CKO Operator (Wheelabrator cut-off saw)
1st Shift
Summary of Position:
Operation of the wheelabrator to ensure that correct manufacturing process is followed. Inspect, identify and separate different manufacturing defects and styled parts. Report mechanical malfunctions to maintenance and/or the supervisor. Safe operation of cut off saw. Change worn blades as needed. Periodic cleaning of the wheelabrator screens as required. Maintain area in a neat and orderly fashion. Work is repetitive. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties:
Operation of the wheelabrator. Inspect all parts. Separate parts by type. Separate defected parts. Operate cutoff saw. Cut parts to manufacturing specifications.
Job Knowledge and Learning Time:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Training period, three (3) months.
Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Requires the use of judgment to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to frequently lift 25+lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, lift for long periods of time. This position can be both mentally and physically demanding. Extensive use of hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, twist, turn and bend.
Working environment:
The following safety equipment is needed to perform this position: steel toed shoes/boots, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Exposure to heat, dust, dirt, fumes, and noise.
