Process Engineer- Injection Molding
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer- Injection Molding will have responsibility for technical support of injection molding processes in our Metal Injection Molding operation. Play an integral role in the development and scaled implementation of MIM technology. Drive projects through development, and support day to day production after launch.

Support Injection molding machine installation and startup.
Develop injection molding process parameters for fill, pack, hold, and cooling cycles.
Set variables for injection velocity, temperature, pressure, cooling temperature and time.
Collaborate with mold designers on injection mold design. Recommend adjustments to runners, gates, draft, cores, etc.
Setup and tool automated unloading arms.
Develop required process documentation for each job.
Demonstrate manufacturing technology concepts for customers, operations, and the leadership team.
Provide comprehensive process training for operators and technicians.
Actively engage in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve quality, reduce waste, and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION: Associates degree in engineering or plastic injection molding. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related applied science preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of process engineering in plastic injection molding including:
i. Setup of Injection molding machine variables.
ii. Application of molding machine automation.
Metal Injection Molding experience a plus.
Knowledge of Med Device Industry, FDA, and ISO 13485 requirements
OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work odd hours, such as early mornings, late nights and weekends if required.
TRAVEL: If required
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous attention to detail required in order to prevent errors.
Physically able to stand and sit for long periods of time during a day.
Must possess time, stress, and organizational management skills.
Must be able to work on the manufacturing floor, lifting (25 lbs.), bending, installing, utilizing machine controls and hand tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Good working conditions, position situated in office and manufacturing environments.
Slight exposure to dust and noise, but not beyond acceptable limits.
Safety glasses required when in production areas.
Proper ergonomic practices and safety procedures must always be utilized.
Adherence to all OSHA regulations and the Precision’s Employee Safety Manual is required.
