THIRD SHIFT SUPERVISOR
3rd Shift Hour – 9pm to 5:30am
This role is accountable for effectively managing the 3rd shift personnel and executing the production plan established and communicated by site management, in order to satisfy customer requirements. This role will support the Continuous Improvement (CI) process and will have responsibility for fostering an atmosphere of safety, quality, delivery and associate engagement.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
o Responsible for managing shift production and shipping to meet delivery schedules at the optimum level of productivity and quality ensuring company goals and objectives are met.
o Key focus areas include the elimination of work-related injuries, elimination of plant-controllable customer complaints, and achievement of operational efficiency goals through process improvement, improved utilization of resources, waste reduction and associate morale.
o Lead daily Gemba & KPI board reviews
o Ensure compliance to production and quality control standards, budget and cost controls
o Meet established shift safety, quality, and delivery per plan and cost targets
o Review production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and operation delays
o Ensure plans are carried out to ensure efficient use of materials, machines and associates.
o Use internal and external voice-of-customer (VOC) to analyze/improve process and apply root cause problem solving methods to all functions
o Collaboratively develop and implement cost-effective alternatives and improvements to production process
o Organize and direct workflow to satisfy production requirements as planned in a cost-efficient manner
o Work collaboratively with Process Engineering, Quality, peers and management to analyze and resolve major process and quality issues
o Assess manufacturing and business processes for potential improvements in efficiency/effectiveness
o Support plant layout, facility planning, and other assigned projects
o Provide input/feedback on various areas to drive business improvements, such as AOP development, capital plan, manufacturing process improvements, etc.
o Perform other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years related experience or equivalent education and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing.
Working knowledge of manufacturing operating system and experience utilizing Microsoft Office.
Strong supervisory, leadership and communication skills.
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.

Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds alone, 80 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
