Assembler
M-F: Variable shift starting at 6AM
$15.00/hr.
Overview:
Accurately and efficiently assembles and packages coins and paper money products for retail sale to customers. Restocks and delivers products/supplies in the Assembly and Machine room.
Essential Functions:
- Quality inspection of product to verify coin type before packaging. Inspects packaging materials to assure quality.
- On a rotation basis, pull all stock needed by Assembly Clerks to assemble sets.
- Put away any stock received from the warehouse.
- Assembles coins/paper money products into envelopes, holders, or albums for customers.
- Applies labels to coin and paper money envelopes. Inserts coins in poly bags or flips, then into correct coin envelope.
- Responsible to follow standard methods for Assembly to meet department production.
- Performs quality assurance on packaged products leaving machine room such as: scanning for bar
- code readability, check weighing trays and sets, and random quality checking.
- Disassembles sets and selections as required.
- Accurately records all work performed using the dept production and workload reporting system (PC based).
Nominal Functions:
- Performs inventory cycle counts when needed.
- Assists the Inventory Dept. when needed.
- Sorts customer returns by item number and labels with quantity.
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the department.
- Count, quality check, and pack finished product produced on the blister-sealing machine when Machine Operators are packaging items containing more than two coins.
- Offers suggestions to management for improved packaging techniques.
- Responsible to assist other departments as required.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 0-12 months experience (will train)
- Proper product handling (will train)
- Able to identify coin and banknote types and varieties using reference guides supplied by the company (will train)
Skills/Abilities:
- Possess accurate counting abilities and use of calculator
- Excellent numerical aptitude/retention
- Able to lift to 35 pounds, more with assistance
- Able to perform repetitious work all day
- Able to use shoulders, elbows, wrist, etc. all day (repetitive motion)
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- 20-20 corrected vision
- Strong interpersonal skills And able to work in a team environment
- Excellent concentration level
- Able to climb/work on ladders at slightly elevated levels
- Prior experience in a production job a plus
- Basic math skills
- Legible handwriting
