Machine Operator – Filling Room
1st Shift – 6am–4:30pm, Monday – Thursday
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Provides increased and advanced support to a variety of manufacturing operations related to the production company products. The Machine Operator supports production activities in the Packaging room, Filling room, Alloyd Blister packaging, Bagging Machine, Display Assembly & Pack Out, First Aid Kitting and Promotional production areas with minimal guidance and direction.
Duties
Self-motivated with the ability to perform production activities with minimal direction.
Support achievement of line safety, quality, and output metrics by providing direction, assistance, and encouragement to line staff.
Provide on-the-job training to ensure line Manufacturing Associate 1 staff understand requirements of the job and have the knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks.
Set up line using Line set-up documentation.
Set up and change labels on the label dispenser.
Ability to safely check glue pot glue levels and replenish as needed.
Change tape rolls in tape machine.
Identify and ability to perform productive activities during down/idle time.
Initial set-up with skills to change and replace empty rolls on the Terco sleever.
Coordinate movement of material into and out of production areas including accurate material identification. Pallets sheets with P/N, Lot No., and Quantity of inventory.
Coordination and ability to complete line clearance activities.
Support 6S and Lean activities
Provide constructive feedback and ideas that will enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Understand line documentation requirements and enter information in Batch Records.
Packaging Room Focus: Ability to set-up and start production on all lines in the Packaging Room including the Tube Labeler and Alloyd Blister machines. Ability to thread labels and sleeves on equipment. Skills and ability to produce product at the defined rate meeting all safety .and quality requirements including documentation. Training and skills to support the #2 position on the Filamatic filling line and Terco filling line.

Filling Room Focus: Ability to start and run all filling lines (Cozzoli, Unipac, Filamatic, Terco) including the tube labeler. Skills to break down, clean and re-assemble all filling lines. Skills and ability to produce product at the defined rate meeting all safety and quality specifications and requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or successful work history.
Ability to stand for full shift / long periods of time.
Basic math and reading skills.
Ability to perform repetitive motions primarily utilizing upper body extremities.
Ability to work in a team environment and maintain high rates and repetitive manual activities.
Awareness of individual and line metrics with the desire and ability to achieve safety, performance, quality, and cost metrics.
Identify and provide alternative activities and solutions for safety, efficiency, and quality improvements.
Ability to visually check and verify printed Lot and Date codes in a fast-paced environment.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to perform repetitive lifting to 50 lbs.
Positive attitude with desire and ability to instruct and coach staff to achieve line/department performance metrics and overall company goals.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Must be able to work overtime hours as required.
